So we kick off our weekly feature, Legends Corner with Nottingham Forest legend Ian Woan.
Blessed with a wand of a left foot, Woan played as an 'old fashioned' left winger terrorising defences with his mazy runs and pin point crossing ability, goalkeepers were left trembling when he would unleash the occasional rocket - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZRa9jMwVVU
It's argued that Woan is the original 'Jamie Vardy' due to starting his career in non-league with Heswall, Caernarfon Town, Newton and finally Runcorn before embarking on his journey to becoming a Forest legend. After Forest Woan had stints at Barnsley, Swindon & Miami Fusion (amongst others) however would never replicate the 'forest years'. These days you'll find him assisting the gravel voiced Sean Dyche up at Burnley.
On behalf of a 90's kid who was obsessed with Match of the day, thanks Ian for memories.
